Pavement condition data are derived from the Federal Highway Administration’s (FHWA) annual survey of state and locally maintained roads and highways, based on a uniform pavement rating index. While Pittsburgh roads have improved in the last few years among our benchmark regions, almost half of our roads remain in mediocre or poor condition.
