Animal Friends’ Black Tie & Tails Celebrates 75 Years
Animal Friends celebrated the biggest 75th birthday bash ever on Friday, Sept. 21 and Saturday, Sept. 22 at Black Tie & Tails. For two days, Animal Friends’ campus on Camp Horne Road was transformed into a party scene filled with confetti, streamers, birthday cakes and (of course!) the true party animals: adoptable dogs, cats and rabbits.
In attendance among the more than 750 guests were Animal Friends’ President & CEO David Swisher, Allegheny County treasurer John Weinstein, Bob Fragasso of Saturday night’s presenting sponsor Fragasso Financial Advisors, Animal Friends’ Board Chair Gina Carlos, Honorary Chairs Debbie and Jimmy Campbell of Day Automotive, Friday emcee Heather Abraham from KDKA, and Saturday emcees Ashley Dougherty from WTAE and Jim Krenn.
Guests mingled, enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, danced, bid in silent and live auctions and also had fun with the wine and whiskey pull, gift wall and more. The 21st annual Black Tie & Tails was a tremendous success promoting awareness about the programs and services at Animal Friends and raising a total of $819,000 toward their lifesaving mission.
