63rd Annual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball Features Samples from Upcoming Season
The 63rd Annual Pittsburgh CLO Guild Ball was held on Saturday, May 19 at the Westin Hotel. The evening’s theme, “The Rhythm is Gonna Get You,” saluted the Pittsburgh CLO summer season opener, ON YOUR FEET!
The ball—chaired by Laura Penrod Kronk and Dolores Warwick—honored Sandy and Bill Lambert with the CLOE Award for Community Service in acknowledgement of the Lamberts’ outstanding contributions to the Pittsburgh CLO and the greater community. The event featured a spirited song and dance sampling of selections from the upcoming summer season, the Guild’s signature Pink Boxes, and a silent auction. 250 guests attended, including Stephen and Helen Hanna Casey (chair of the Pittsburgh CLO board), Mary Jane Brennan and Van Kaplan (executive producer of Pittsburgh CLO), Kathy and Joe Guyaux (former chair of the Pittsburgh CLO board), Sandy and Bill Lambert (former chair of the Pittsburgh CLO board) and Walter and Patti Matty Blenko (chair of the guild). The evening was skillfully emceed by WTAE’s Mike Clark, who delighted the crowd with a surprise sidesplitting performance as part of the entertainment. The event raised almost $200,000 in support of CLO productions, the Pittsburgh CLO College Internship program, CLO Education and Outreach programs, and the Constance T. Rockwell Scholarship program.
