Year-Over-Year Job Growth

The Pittsburgh region lost about 85,900 jobs between November 2019 and November 2020, a 7.3 percent decrease over the year.  This fell below the benchmark average of a 6.8 percent decline for this period.

According to the preliminary numbers, in the 12-month period, all sectors lost jobs during this period except financial activities, which was up .4 percent year-over-year.  The leisure and hospitality has been hit the hardest with a loss of 28.9 percent of jobs in the industry from November 2019.
