Matt Hohner holds an M.F.A. in writing and poetics from Naropa University. His work has been shortlisted for the Moth International Poetry Prize and won the Maryland Writers Association Poetry Prize, Oberon Poetry Prize, Sport Literate “Anything but Baseball” Poetry Prize, and Doolin Writers’ Weekend Poetry Prize. Hohner has collaborated with local visual artists for the Baltimore Ekphrasis Project (LED Billboard), and Dutch composer Bec Plexus for an original piece performed in Amsterdam (2018). Hohner has taught poetry workshops in various settings, including Creative Alliance in Baltimore, Md. His numerous publications include The Irish Times, Live Canon Anthology 2019 (U.K.), and Prairie Schooner. Most recently, Hohner was shortlisted for the Trim International Poetry Prize 2020, for which he has new work forthcoming in Boyne Berries (Ireland). An editor for Loch Raven Review, Hohner’s collection “Thresholds and Other Poems” was published by Apprentice House (2018). His next poetry collection will be published by Salmon Poetry (Ireland) in 2022.
