Exports Trend

The U.S. Department of Commerce publishes information on exports for major Metropolitan Statistical Areas of the United States. Data for 2015 show an 8.8 percent decrease in exports from the Pittsburgh region compared to total exports from in 2014. However, the total exports from the region has about doubled since 2005. Coal, steel and chemicals are the Pittsburgh region’s three principal export products.
