“Horsing Around… After Dark” Raises $180,000 for Family House
On Saturday, March 7, over 290 guests came to the Duquesne Club for the annual Family House Gala presented by UPMC and UPMC Health Plan and helped raise $180,000 for the organization.
The evening, titled “Horsing Around… After Dark,” included opportunities to donate directly to the mission of Family House and partake in various raffle drawings, including a chance to win a John Hardy necklace donated by Louis Anthony Jewelers and a trip to Mexico donated by Board Member Val Williams.
Guests enjoyed a seated meal while the event was emceed by WTAE anchor Chris Lovingood.
Amanda Budai, manager of social work services at Hillman Cancer Center, spoke on the impact Family House has on caregivers and why she refers patients to stay with Family House. Executive Director Jennifer March highlighted the importance of being able to keep the doors open to patients and their families when they need it most.
After Dark gala attendees joined the festivities at 9 p.m., and guests danced through the evening, enjoying entertainment provided by Jason Kendall Productions.
