The Great Allegheny Passage is a 153 mile bike trail between Cumberland, MD and Pittsburgh. The trail winds through the Allegheny Mts, not over them, and along the way offers some spectacular views of the rivers it follows. The Youghiogheny River Vista, just north of Bruner Run, is one of those views.

Getting there (auto + bike or hike)
From Exit 91, Donegal, PA of the Pennsylvania Turnpike turn left onto Rt 31 (east). Go a few miles to the intersection of Rt 381/711, at Sarnelli's Market and turn right. Stay on Rt 381 following signs to Ohiopyle State Park and Bike Trail for about 17 miles to Ohiopyle, PA. Bike from Ohiopyle toward Connellsville, PA. From the Railroad Station in Ohiopyle go across the Low Bridge over the Youghiogheny River, the end of Ferncliff Peninsula, and then the High Bridge over the Youghiogheny River staying on the Great Allegheny Passage bike trail. Continue past the Bruner Run take-out road to the River Vista Overlook about a mile ahead.
