The Brannon family stands behind everything they do, and they do everything. The showroom has a great variety of cabinetry, but Copperleaf is really selling its knowledge, experience and innovative design. From on-site designers at the showroom and the installation, no phase of the job is sub-contracted. Copperleaf does a traditional kitchen and bath design, with a specialty in spa bathrooms.

Family-owned for 57 years, Crescent has new design showrooms for kitchens and bath. Cabinetry by Wellborn, Shiloh and Crystal, along with computer kitchen design, is upstairs. Downstairs is a selection of decorative plumbing, with more than 24 brands of fittings and fixtures, including Kohler. A supplier to local architects, contractors and designers, Crescent is open to the public and assists in bath layouts.

With more than 50 years in the business, Excel is unique because it carries a complete range of cabinetry and appliances. From high end to low and everything in between, Excel specializes in designing a kitchen to suit its customers needs and budget. Known for mid-range and luxury hardware and plumbing products, Habitat's offerings are difficult or impossible to find anywhere else in town. With the recent absorption of the Accessory Forum of Dormont, Habitat has expanded its wares. Look for door and cabinet hardware from Rocky Mountain and Baldwin and high-end decorative plumbing by Toto and Samuel Heath.

That's the main focus, and cabinetry comes along with it. From very traditional to ultra-modern, it offers custom cabinetry and a large selection of exclusive products.

Owner and designer Linda Yeager opened her Sewickley design studio storefront 2 1⁄2 years ago and specializes in any room with cabinetry, including libraries, bars and laundry rooms. Her custom cabinetry sources include Crystal and Superior Wood Products. Yeager is an interior designer who offers very personal service — one designer in one location — and who oversees every stage of the job.

Designer Suzanne Bernard's favorite work revolves around the kitchen. So Manderley specializes in custom kitchens, “from soup to nuts.” She generally does three lay-outs for clients using hand-drawn elevations — a rarity in an age of computer design. Mouser custom cabinetry is on display in the showroom, which is full-service. Manderley's wants a satisfied client, so they ask everything from how many cooks to how many spices will be in the kitchen.

Since 1960, Patete has provided full-service kitchen and bath design. From the initial design phase using on-site interior designers through completely supervised installation, Patete handles every aspect. Owner Steve Erenrich says his company can even do the wall-covering. Holiday custom cabinetry and Ultra Craft are two of the lines carried, along with a spectrum of counter surfaces.

The German company Poggenpohl is the oldest cabinet company in the world, though its sleek contemporary designs make it seem like the newest. Thomas Trzcinski has the exclusive locally, and the Shadyside showroom offers comprehensive design services.

Owned by Nicholas Supply, in business since 1956, the showroom has an extensive assortment of bath and kitchen cabinetry, fittings, fixtures, decorative hardware and plumbing. It offers tile and stone for backsplashes, floors, countertops and surrounds. Strictly high end, Splash carries hundreds of lines available exclusively through them. Many are European, such as Eurostyle vanities and THG — French faucets made with Lalique crystal. Rocky Mountain and Edgar Berebi are part of an enormous selection of specialty hardware.

Stein's is 60 years old, owned for the last 30 by the Sambol family. Father Abe and son Jerry are certified kitchen designers, and Stein's specializes in custom, quality installation with attention to detail. The full-service business has Crystal Cabinet Works.
